Jonathan Andre

I was born and raised in London though my family origins are from the West Indies. I’ve been singing all my life and studied jazz and pop music at Kingston University where I started to play the djembe (African drum) and saxophone. After studying African percussion and rhythms I joined the Grand Union Youth Orchestra as a means to actively keep my practice up. Since joining the orchestra I’ve been introduced to many different instruments from around the world and am trying my hand at other percussion instruments under the guidance of professional Grand Union members.
