Under the expert guidance of Grand Union’s world musicians including South African Claude Deppa (trumpet, African drums), Yousuf Ali Khan (tabla) from Bangladesh, gu zheng (Chinese harp) virtuoso Zhu Xiao Meng and GU’s composer/director Tony Haynes young musicians will perform a programme that spans the globe, taking in Latin-Amercian rhythms, West African drumming, township music from South Africa, bhangra and Indian classical rags and ancient Chinese folksongs.
