The event was a collaboration with Havering Music Services. In the afternoon a workshop took place for Havering Young Musicians that had been advertised by Havering Music Services to all Havering Schools. 5 young musicians came along, some of whom had attended the workshop at St. Edward’s Church on 28 September. They worked on 3 pieces that were then performed at the evening performance.

From 4pm a workshop/rehearsal took place with the Havering Youth Orchestra that was led by Tony Haynes and supported by Gerry Hunt, Andres Lafone, Kevin Robinson and 6 of the more established GUYO members.

The evening performance saw the Havering Youth Orchestra performing 3 of their repertoire pieces, followed by GUYO (plus the 5 from the afternoon workshop) giving a short performance. In the second half a combined performance took place that went down very well with the audience. Future activities are now being planned with the Havering Music Service.
