The Grand Union Orchestra, in partnership with the Hackney Empire Theatre & St. John at Hackney Church is proud to present “Raise the Banner” at one of East London’s grandest historic spaces.
Led by a star-studded line-up of the Grand Union Orchetra’s renowned world and jazz musicians, Raise the Banner brings Londoners of all cultural backgrounds together to form an inspiring single voice. An evening of truly eclectic music, from bhangra to gospel, reggae and hi-life to classical, blues and township a cappella.
Also featuring East London’s pioneering cross-cultural youth ensemble - Grand Union Youth Orchestra | Hackney Empire Community Choir | musicians from Pantonic Steel Band | Hackney Voices | Haringey Shed Community Choir and Wing-It Singers plus aspiring young musicians & singers from local schools.
