Redbrige Music Service - GUYO half term residency
Redbrige Music Service - GUYO half term residency
31 October 2008 at 7:30pm
The music covered included elements of Indian rags, African drumming, Brazilian song, Caribbean rhythms and Eastern European folk music in the concert, where everyone played improvised solos, and during the workshop/rehearsal sessions the group delved into some of the theory behind all these world music styles.
The concert was a culmination of the two days of work, and was followed by an informal reception. Players (including steel pan) from Redbridge Music Service participated, and performers who had taken part in the GUYO workshops that formed part of the Open Rehearsal Weekend on 27th and 28th September.
